“THE BEST OF COLORADO” voted Latigo as “Colorado’s Best Dude Ranch”

WHY?

STAFF: Scarcely a week goes by that our guests don’t ask where and how we get such amazing young people for staff. They are genuinely polite, serving, trustworthy and just plain fun to be around. Kids and adults alike fall in love with them.

VIEWS: The views leave indelible impressions. You’ll gaze in awe at some of Colorado’s most spectacular scenery. Drink in those views and inhale the crisp mountain air. From the front porch of our historic log lodge, you have a panoramic view of 100 miles of the Continental Divide. Even other dude ranchers have told us we don’t talk enough about our views.

SOLACE: You’ll enjoy the quiet and seclusion of a place that is also readily accessible. Find a slower pace in a hectic world. You’ll spend a week without cars or the sound of traffic. Where some ranches are just off the highway, the paved road is 6 miles from Latigo, and our nearest neighbor is over 5 miles away.

FLEXIBILITY: Choices abound! Whether in riding, dining or playing, you get lots of choices.

HORSES: You’ll find out why the riding program is so highly acclaimed by our guests. The new things you learn and the bond you develop with your horse will be truly wonderful and gratifying. Nose-to-tail isn’t everyone’s idea of fun, so we give you the choice of walk-only rides, walk-trot, walk-trot-lope, family rides, all-day rides, packtrips, breakfast rides, photo rides, sunset rides, cattle work, or arena lessons.

KIDS: Your children will have a fabulous time riding, swimming, fishing, and playing with their new friends. Latigo is a family-oriented, kid-friendly place where you can be with them as much as you want, but don’t have to watch over them every minute.

MEALS: You’ll savor the quality and variety of food our guests rave about. Nouveau Ranch Cuisine: healthy, hearty, tasty, fresh, and wholesome. Check out the section on meals for details that will surprise you.

SOCIAL: You’ll meet new folks who, like you, enjoy the adventure of life. Swap lots of good talk, stories, and laughter.

The owners and staff at Latigo want you to have the best vacation of your life and do everything we can to ensure that.

Lodging Overview

When you visit Latigo, you'll stay in one of our ten comfortable log accommodations. We have three basic styles - larger families stay in 3-bedroom cabins, couples enjoy single-bedroom units, and families of three enjoy single-bedroom units with a fold-out couch in the separate sitting room.

Each of the three-bedroom units has a nostalgic wood-burning stove in their sitting room, and all single bedroom units have mood-creating fireplaces. All are well-appointed with comfortable furniture and tasteful original Western artwork.

We stock the refrigerators in every cabin daily with complimentary soft drinks, and also keep your container of homemade caramel corn topped off. For your convenience, coffee makers and hairdryers are in all units. The bathrooms are configured with a tub/shower combination. Master bedrooms have a queen-size bed, and other bedrooms have double or bunk beds. We clean your room daily, changing towels and linens according to your preference.

Every accommodation offers a private porch, private entrance and private bath. The chairs on your porch afford a location where you can read when not riding or just sit to soak in the Rocky Mountain beauty.
